Samsung’s Premium Mid-Range Smartphones Announced: Galaxy A35 5G, Galaxy A55 5G Launched in India

Samsung has officially unveiled two new smartphones in its Galaxy A series. The line-up includes the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G and Galaxy A55 5G. Samsung is yet to announce the pricing its latest Galaxy A series smartphones in India but read on to find out about its availability in the country.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, Galaxy A55 5G Competition

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G aims to take on the likes of the OnePlus 12R 5G, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, Nothing Phone (2), and Google Pixel 7a.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, on the other hand, will provide competition to the Realme 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro, Motorola Edge 40, and Poco X6 Pro. Now back to the pricing and specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is powered by the Exynos 1480 SoC paired with the new AMD Xclipse 530 GPU, which uses RDNA2 architecture. The phone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The Galaxy A55 5G packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, although no adapter is included in the box.

The Galaxy A55 5G sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 with Samsung promising four major Android OS updates and five years of regular security updates with the Galaxy A55 5G.

For optics, the Galaxy A55 features a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 5 MP macro unit. Up front, the handset opts for a 32 MP selfie camera. Samsung also brings its Knox Vault feature to the Galaxy A55 5G, which is a hardware-based and tamper-resistant security solution that offers comprehensive protection against both hardware and software attacks.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G shares the same display, software, battery and charging, and security as the Galaxy A55 5G. However, the Galaxy A35 5G gets a downgraded Exynos 1380 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The two phones also feature an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

Moreover, the Galaxy A35 5G also features a triple-camera setup on top with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 5 MP macro unit. The phone also features a downgraded 13 MP selfie camera. The other aspects of the Galaxy A35 5G are the same as the Galaxy A55.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, Galaxy A35 5G Pricing, Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G price starts from €480 (roughly Rs 43,450) for the base 8GB/128GB model. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G price starts from €380 (roughly Rs 34,400) for the base 6GB/128GB variant. Samsung is yet to unveil pricing of the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 in India, although the two smartphones will go on sale in the country from March 14 at 12 noon via Samsung Shop, Samsung Stores, and other retail channels.
