Funnily enough, the smartphones have appeared in so many leaks that we already know will they bring to the table. As stated, the launch event for the Galaxy S9 duo is slated for February 25, just one day ahead of the commencement of MWC 2018.

It seems like the launch event won't be an ordinary one. Samsung has something interesting in mind for its Unpacked 2018 event. The company will apparently use Augmented Reality or AR to make the event stand out from the crowd. Well, the attendees will be able to virtually experience the Galaxy S9 flagships by. As reported by XDA Developers, a Reddit user has found out this information after tearing down Samsung's Unpacked 2018 app.
The Unpacked 2018 app can be downloaded for free via Google Play Store. When you open the app, you will see a countdown to the Galaxy S9/S9+ launch event. What's interesting is that the app includes an AR feature. Placed on the top-right side, the AR button will activate AR experience by scanning any Samsung or Galaxy logo. Currently, the features shows the Unpacked 2018 event venue on the app.

However, the Reddit user further found some 3D models of the Galaxy S9 buried inside the app; probably designed to show the smartphone in AR. Attendees will be able to see the 3D models by tapping their phone against their event badge. It is worth mentioning that these models can not be found on Samsung's official site. The company may have wanted to keep the AR plan as a secret.

The 3D models of the Samsung Galaxy S9 also confirm the design language of the smartphone. It will indeed have a Lilac Purple color variant with a dedicated Bixby button, bottom-firing speaker, and a relocated fingerprint scanner. The XDA Developers further reports, the handset will be equipped with a quad-LED flash module like the iPhone X, and a new heart rate sensor. Overall, the 3D models are in line with the recently leaked renders.
We can't wait for Samsung's Unpacked 2018 event and we are sure it will be unforgettable.
