Sharp Aquos S2 smartphone likely to launch in India in February 2018
Sharp Aquos S2 comes with a 5.5-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.95%. The smartphone has recently won' Best Full Screen Smartphone Innovation Award'
Japanese smartphone maker Sharp is likely to launch its bezel-less smartphone in India next month. Sharp Aquos S2, which features extremely thin bezels was first announced last year but did not make it to the Indian market. The smartphone's selling point is its edge-less display and an amazing 84.95 per cent screen-to-body ratio that makes it stand out from other handsets.
Sharp Aquos S2 uses Sharp's Free Form Display (FFD) technology and sports a 5.5-inch (2040 x 1080) display. Sharp Aquos S2 uses company's FFD (Free Form Display) technology to overcome the camera and sensor layout problems. The smartphone embeds the front camera along with proximity sensors ambient light sensors under the notch.
The design ensures a larger screen ratio while provides users a better selfie experience. The company has also introduced a limited edition S2 that also uses the global first molding 5 curved surface 3D glass craft for display. Another highlight of the smartphone is its dual-lens camera setup.
Sharp introduced Aquos S2 in two variants; one with a Snapdragon 630 processor and other working on a Snapdragon 660 chipset. The former is backed by 4GB RAM and has 64GB internal memory, whereas the second variant offers 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is no yet clear that which variant will be launched next month in the Indian market.
Meanwhile, Sharp has been selected as winner in two tech categories - '8K Innovation Technology Contribution Award' and 'The Best Full Screen Smartphone Innovation Award' for SHARP LCD-70SX970A and SHARP AQUOS S2 respectively, at the coveted Consumer Electronic Show (CES), 2018. Sharp says that the company has received this recognition for their cutting-edge technology and product innovation offerings to the customers. It is worth mentioning that the Sharp TV offers 16 times more resolution than the standard 2090P screen. The TV is said to offer more vivid color, and cadmium-free wide color gamut. The company hasn't said anything on the launch of Sharp TVs in the Indian market.
