Sharp S3 with Android One OS launched: Price, features and more

Japanese electronics major Sharp has now launched a new smartphone in the mobile market. Dubbed as Sharp S3, it is an Android One program smartphone and is further based on Google's latest Android version which is Oreo. While the search giant has been directing OEMs to the Android One platform, Sharp is the latest brand to join the bandwagon.

Currently, Sharp S3 has been launched in Japan and the handset is priced at 32,400 Yen, which translates to roughly Rs. 19,000. The device is available in Turquoise, Navy Black, White and Pink color options. However, it is not clear whether the handset maker will bring the device to other markets or not.

Having said that, let's have a look at what the smartphone has to offer.
Sharp S3 comes with a 5-inch IGZO display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a rather old Snapdragon 430 chipset, which is paired with 3GB of RAM. It offers 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

Interestingly, the device also comes with IPX water resistant properties and IP6X dust-proof properties. As for the cameras, Sharp S3 is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera along with an LED flash at the rear. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera.

The smartphone is backed by a 2700mAh battery and the company has said that it will offer 22 hours on LTE network and standby time of 605 hours. Sharp S3 comes with 4G LTE and VoLTE support. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio port and USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging.
