Sony unveiled the Xperia 10 VI, its newest mid-range smartphone, alongside its flagship Xperia 1 VI. This phone is a successor to the Xperia 10 V and offers a familiar design with a tall and narrow 6.1-inch OLED display. Here's a quick look at what the Xperia 10 VI brings to the table.

Display and Design

The Xperia 10 VI retains the 21:9 aspect ratio display of its predecessor, but with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which is strange in 2024. Moving ahead, Gorilla Glass Victus protects the display from scratches and drops. The phone is made of recycled materials and has an IP65/68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Performance

The Xperia 10 VI is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is a reliable choice for everyday tasks and light gaming. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card.

Camera

Sony swapped the triple-lens system for a dual-camera setup with a focus on versatility. The main camera is a 48MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) that can take wide-angle photos and offers 2x zoom. The ultrawide sensor is 8MP. The front-facing camera is also 8MP. The camera app boasts new AI features for better low-light performance and includes a redesigned interface for selfies.

The phone retains the headphone jack and supports LDAC for high-quality Bluetooth audio. The star of the show might be the 5,000mAh battery, promising up to two days of usage on a single charge. The phone also supports fast charging.

The Xperia 10 VI starts at €399 (around $431 or ₹35,983) for the 8GB/128GB variant and will be available from mid-June.
