Sony Xperia 5 V Leaks on Geekbench With 16GB of RAM

Sony has recently been the subject of a slew of leaks. The company's flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 V, has been leaked with a series of renders revealing an intriguing camera setup, and if that wasn't enough, Sony's upcoming Xperia 5 V has appeared on Geekbench, revealing a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a whopping 16GB of RAM.

It has been reported (via a post on Weibo) that the upcoming Sony Xperia 5 V has been put through the Geekbench benchmark test, with potentially interesting results.

The most notable feature is the presence of 16GB of RAM. If the Geekbench listing is valid, the phone will compete with other 16GB RAM monsters like the OnePlus 11 series and the iQOO 11 Pro.

According to the listing, the device has a "Kalama" motherboard, which can be found in devices such as Samsung's Galaxy S23 lineup and Xiaomi's 13 Pro. This means the device will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The single-core score of 1439 and multi-core score of 5071 are comparable to other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices; however, the device could still be in development, so performance may differ when it is officially released.

Finally, the device will run Android 13 out of the box, and given that previous Sony devices have used a very lightweight skin on top of Android, the Xperia 5 V is expected to follow suit.

Unfortunately, there is no information on the launch date of the Sony Xperia 5 V. The Xperia 5 IV launched last September, so going by the pattern, the Xperia 5 V is still months away from release.
