New 5-inch Sony smartphone clears FCC: Is it Xperia XZ2 Compact?

Now, fresh information that has hit the web hints that there could be a 5-inch smartphone from Sony that might also be unveiled at the MWC 2018 show floor. And, this device is believed to be dubbed Xperia XZ2 Compact. The smartphone has received the FCC certification in the U.S. claims a report by Xperia Blog.

The FCC ID of the alleged 5-inch Sony smartphone is PY7-24118Q and it appears to be different from the mysterious Sony smartphone that was spotted on the FCC database sans a 3.5mm audio jack. When it comes to the dimensions, it looks like this smartphone will be similar to the Xperia UL that was announced back in 2013. We say so as it is listed to measure 135 x 71 mm in dimensions. Also, it appears to have a 5-inch display. We can expect the mysterious Sony smartphone to arrive with a full-screen design that is the current trend.

The ongoing reports speculate that the alleged Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact might arrive with an aspect ratio of 18:9 as it is said to feature the full-screen design trend. It is said that the smartphone will use the Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB default memory capacity. This remains to be confirmed as the Snapdragon 845 chipset will be used by the flagship smartphones those will be unveiled this year.

At its rear, the alleged Xperia XZ2 Compact is believed to feature a 19MP camera at its rear and an 8MP selfie camera at its front. The battery capacity is said to be 3000mAh that should make it last for up to a day. This 5-inch Sony smartphone with the full-screen design is speculated to be priced at 4999 yuan (approx. Rs. 50,000).
