TCL to launch a new smartphone soon? TCL V760 gets certified by TENAA

Apart from TVs, it looks like in 2018 TCL has plans to further expand its reach to other niches.

Well, if you say TCL we formally associate the brand with TVs most of the time. While the company has managed to gain a lot of popularity the TV or Smart TV segment it looks like in 2018 the company has plans to further expand its reach to other niches. Having said that, a new smartphone from TCL has now appeared on Chinese certification website, TENAA. And this somewhat forecasts what the company is looking into or planning for 2018.

Now that the device has appeared on the certification database, it means that the company is gearing up to launch the device soon in the market. However, TCL is yet to officially confirm the existence of the device. We might have to wait for sometime to get a statement from the company.

Meanwhile, the TENAA listing does reveal some of the key specs and design of the upcoming smartphone. So we basically have some idea about the device and what it will feature. But do note that these might not be the final name, features or specifications that the smartphone could come with. Brands usually change them at the last moment.

In any case, going by the TENAA listing, the device dubbed as TCL V760 comes with a 5.7-inch TFT HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor which is paired with 3GB of RAM. The device offers 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 2900mAh battery and it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

As for the optics, TCL V760 sports a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of dual 8-megapixel sensors along with dual-tone LED Flash, Auto Focus, 4X Optical zoom, 1080p video recording capabilities. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and 3.5mm Audio Jack. The phone comes with gravity sensor, distance sensor, light sensors. As per the listing, the handset will be available in Gold and black color options. And finally, the handset measures 153.5 x 71.6 x 8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.
