TECNO Set to Launch World’s Slimmest 5G Curved Smartphone in India, Priced Around ₹80,000

TECNO is gearing up to launch what it calls the world’s slimmest 5G curved smartphone in India. The official unveiling is anticipated in September, with pricing expected to hover around ₹80,000.

The company hasn’t disclosed full specifications yet. But since the device is expected to follow in the footsteps of the TECNO Spark Slim, first showcased at MWC 2025, we can use that model as a baseline for what to expect.

A Look Back at the Spark Slim

At Mobile World Congress earlier this year, TECNO introduced the Spark Slim, which drew attention for pushing the boundaries of design without cutting corners on usability.

The phone measured just 5.75mm thick while still carrying a sizeable 5,200mAh battery, making it one of the rare slim devices not to compromise on endurance. It also featured a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and 1.5K resolution.

Cameras and Build Quality

The Spark Slim packed a dual 50MP rear camera system and a 13MP front camera, covering most day-to-day needs. TECNO also used stainless steel and recycled aluminum in its construction, aligning with the growing trend toward sustainable materials in smartphones.

Those details suggest the upcoming India launch could also focus on combining slim design with capable cameras and a durable, premium build.

Performance Expectations

While TECNO hasn't shared official performance details yet, the upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a high-end processor paired with Android 16 out of the box. The Spark Slim prototype was powered by a next-gen octa-core chipset by the way.

Why the Pricing Matters

With an anticipated price of around ₹80,000, TECNO appears ready to compete in a space traditionally dominated by Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. For a brand that has mostly played in the budget and mid-range segments, this would be a significant push into the premium category.

If the final product delivers a similar balance of design, performance, and battery life as the Spark Slim, it could give TECNO a stronger foothold among buyers looking for something different.
