Tecno Launches Camon 20 Series: Smartphones With120Hz AMOLED Displays, MediaTek Chipsets Confirmed

Tecno launched multiple Android smartphones under the Camon 20. The series currently comprises four smartphones, but the Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro 5G share a lot of hardware.

The aforementioned three Android smartphones in the Camon 20 series have a 120Hz 6.67-inch AMOLED, 8GB RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and even a 64MP primary rear camera. Let's check out all the specifications and features of the just-launched Tecno smartphones.

Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro, And 20 Pro 5G Specifications, Features

As mentioned above, the Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro, And 20 Pro 5G feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Although Tecno hasn't confirmed yet, these displays could have a Full HD+ resolution.

Under the hood, Camon 20 Pro 5G is one of the first smartphones to be powered by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC. Although the chipset appears to be new, some reports suggest it could be a rebadged Dimensity 1300.

The Tecno Camon 20 Pro is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, while the base variant, Camon 20, packs a 12nm MediaTek Helio G85. It is apparent that Tecno is attempting to position its latest Camon 20 series smartphones in multiple segments.

Although the Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro, And 20 Pro 5G have different chipsets, all three smartphones feature 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Tecno hasn't confirmed the technology or standard of the RAM and the internal storage yet.

Moving on to the imaging department, there's a 32MP front-facing camera on all the Android smartphones in the Tecno Camon 20 series. Incidentally, all three devices have the same 64MP primary camera, but the technology differs slightly.

All three Camon 20 series smartphones have 64MP primary cameras and a 2MP macro lens, but the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G's primary camera has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 2MP depth sensor. The other two smartphones feature QVGA modules as the third lens.

The Tecno Camon 20 Pro and Pro 5G feature under-display optical fingerprint scanners. However, the base variant Tecno Camon 20 features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

All three Camon 20 series smartphones are powered by 5,000mAh batteries, which support 33W wired fast charging. These devices boot Android 13 with Tecno's HIOS 13 on top.
Tecno has secured an IP53 rating for all three devices. This means the devices have some protection from water splashes and dust.

Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro, And 20 Pro 5G Price, Availability In India

Tecno has launched the Tecno Camon 20, 20 Pro, And 20 Pro 5G Android smartphones. It will be available in Nigeria starting today. Tecno 20 will be available in Predawn Black, Serenity Blue, and Glacier Glow color options. The Camon 20 Pro and 20 Pro 5G will ship in Serenity Blue and Dark Welkin colors.

Tecno has confirmed smartphones under the Tecno Camon 20 series will be available in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Southern Asia. However, the company has refrained from confirming the exact launch date.

As for the prices of the just-launched Tecno smartphones, the Camon 20 Pro 5G will retail for $300 (approx. ₹24,500). The brand hasn't confirmed the pricing of the other two smartphones in the Tecno Camon 20 series.
