Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2 Pre-Orders Go Live in Ghana Ahead of Official Launch

Tecno is set to launch its latest foldable smartphones, the Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2. The devices have already been listed for pre-order in Ghana, although the company has yet to disclose full specifications or pricing details.

The pre-order period runs until August 24, 2024, and offers potential buyers exclusive benefits.

Pre-Order Benefits and Details

Ghanaian customers interested in the Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2 can secure their devices by making a deposit of GHS 1,500 (approximately ₹8,100). Those who pre-order will receive a range of gifts, including a Bluetooth speaker, a flask, a travel bag, and a Tecno Watch 3. Additionally, customers will benefit from 15GB of MTN data for six months, 180 days of screen insurance, and a 12+1 month extended warranty.

Design and Expected Features

While Tecno has not yet released the full specifications of the foldables, the teaser images and preliminary details provide some insights. The Phantom V Fold 2 features a prominent rectangular camera module on the back, reminiscent of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3. This module is expected to house a triple camera setup with at least one 50MP sensor. The front of the device sports a large cover screen with a centered punch-hole camera, and the overall design appears to be slim with a unique textured back panel.

The Phantom V Flip 2, on the other hand, comes with a larger rear cover screen compared to its predecessor, wrapping around the dual-camera setup. This design choice echoes Motorola's approach with its Razr phones. The Flip 2 is anticipated to have a boxy chassis, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, and will be available in a gold color option.

Potential Specifications

Speculation around the Phantom V Fold 2 suggests it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC, coupled with 12GB of RAM. The device is expected to come with Android 14 out of the box and a 5,610mAh battery, marking an improvement over the previous model's 5,000mAh battery.
The Phantom V Flip 2 is rumored to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, also running Android 14. The phone may include a 4,590mAh battery with 70W fast charging support, alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Both foldables have been spotted on certification sites, including BIS, suggesting that an India launch could be on the horizon. As the pre-order period nears its end, more details about the specifications and official pricing are expected to be revealed.
