TECNO POVA 8 5G Launched With 8,000mAh Battery, 144Hz Display: Check Price, Specs, Availability

TECNO has expanded its POVA lineup with the launch of the POVA 8 5G, a smartphone that puts battery life front and center while also bringing a high-refresh-rate display and 5G connectivity.

The device arrives with an 8,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. TECNO is also positioning the phone as a gaming-focused device, thanks to its large cooling system and performance-oriented hardware.

Big Battery Takes the Spotlight

The biggest talking point of the POVA 8 5G is its battery.

TECNO has equipped the smartphone with an 8,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than what is typically found in most smartphones. The company claims up to 39.5 hours of calling time, nearly 18 hours of video playback, and more than 11 hours of gaming on a single charge.

To help reduce charging times, the device supports 45W fast charging and ships with a compatible charger in the box.

144Hz Display for Gaming and Scrolling

On the front, the POVA 8 5G features a 6.76-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

The panel offers a resolution of 1080 x 2344 pixels, up to 950 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode, and a 1500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. These specifications are aimed at smoother gaming and faster touch response during gameplay.

The display also delivers a 91.29 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Dimensity 7100 Powers the Device

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset built on a 6nm process.

The octa-core processor combines four Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at up to 2.0GHz. Graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G610 MC2 GPU.

TECNO says the phone also incorporates additional G1 and SE1 signal chipsets alongside the main processor to improve connectivity and network performance.

Up to 16GB RAM and 256GB Storage

The POVA 8 5G will be available in multiple memory configurations.

Buyers can choose between variants offering up to 16GB RAM through Memory Fusion technology and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

TECNO has also included a 14,689mm² cooling area to help manage temperatures during gaming sessions and heavy workloads.

50MP Camera and Android 16

For photography, the smartphone features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera paired with a light sensor. Camera features include Super Night Mode, Pro Mode, Panorama, Vlog, Slow Motion, Dual Video, and AI-powered tools.

On the front, users get a 13MP selfie camera with support for portrait photography, night mode, and 2K video recording.

The device runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.

Additional Features

The POVA 8 5G supports 20 5G bands and comes with IP64-rated dust and splash resistance. It also carries MIL-STD-810H certification and features AI noise reduction for calls.

The smartphone will be available in three color options: 16 Bit White, Plasma Orange, and Terminal Green.

TECNO has priced the Pova 8 at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, while the higher-end 8GB + 128GB variant carries a price tag of Rs. 31,999. The handset will be available in 16 Bit White, Plasma Orange, and Terminal Green colorways via Flipkart.
