It's halfway through 2015. In the past six months we have seen many important announcements from the smartphone giants including Apple, Samsung, LG, and Asus, as they unveiled their high-end flag bearers or top of the range smartphones.

The Asus Zenfone 2 was announced in January, 2015. The smartphone sports a 5.5 inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor at 2.33GHz clock speed along with 4GB of RAM and PowerVR G6430 graphic unit. It comes with a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera and packed with 3000mAh battery. The smartphone is available for at a starting price of Rs. 14,999.

LG G Flex 2

The LG G Flex 2 was also announced in the same month as Asus Zenfone 2. The G Flex 2 sports a distinctive curved, flexible display design. When launched, it was the first Android smartphone to be powered by a Qualcomm's 64-Bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor along with 2GB / 3GB of RAM. The LG G Flex 2 is price at Rs. 48,800.

Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro

Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro

Xiaomi launched the hot-selling Mi Note smartphone in India earlier this year. The Mi Note sports a 5.7 inch display at 1080x1920 pixels resolution that translates to 387ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is paired with Adreno 330 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM, and comes with a 13MP rear camera with Sony image sensor and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is price at Rs. 7,999.

The Mi Note Pro is supercharged version of Mi Note. It also comes with a 5.7 inch display at 1440x2560 pixels resolution that translates to 515ppi. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, and paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 13MP rear camera powered by Sony image sensor and a 4MP front-faceing camera. It is available for Rs.

HTC One M9

HTC One M9 is a premium smartphone that comes with all-metal uni-body design. The smartphone sports a 5 inch Super LCD3 display at 1080x1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with a 20MP rear camera and its signature BoomSound speakers with Dolby surround sound. Priced at Rs. 44,999.

Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge

Samsung came up with a redesigned Galaxy S flagship smartphone this year. The Galaxy S6 is said to be the best designed smartphone by Samsung so far. The company has introduced two variant of the smartphone: one with original design, while another with dual-edge curved screen. The Galaxy S6 is available at a starting price of Rs. 38,500, while the Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 49,350.

Huawei P8

Huawei P8

The Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, launched its latest flagship the Huawei P8 in May this year. The smartphone features a 5.2 inch display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by octa-core Kirin 930 processor and paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with a 13MP rear camera with enhanced OIS and an 8MP front-facing camera. Not yet available in India.

LG G4

The LG's current flagship smartphone G4, comes with a unique and attractive design, great performance, and a fantastic camera. In terms of design, it relates to the LG G Flex 2 curved-back panel design, however does not feature a curved display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor SoC with a 1.8GHz 64-bit hexa-core CPU paired with 3GB of RAM, and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is available at a starting price or Rs. 44,990.

Sony Xperia Z3+

Sony Xperia Z3+

Last month, Sony announced the global variant of Xperia Z4, dubbed as Xperia Z3+ in India. The smartphone is designed to be waterproof and comes with shock resistant edges with metallic coating design. It has a 5.2 inch display at 1080x1920 pixels resolution, and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor (quad-core 2.0 GHz + quad core 1.5 GHz) paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone is available at Rs. 52,490.

Meizu MX5

Meizu MX5

Earlier this month, Meizu launched the MX5 smartphone at an event in Beijing, China. The smartphone sports a full metal body and houses a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD display at 1080x1920 pixels resolution, which is translated to 401ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Octa-Core processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU, besides 3GB RAM running under the hood. Not yet available in India.
