Even though it's not around now but the brand Nokia will always be remembered by the people for its reliability and trustworthiness. It was one of the first International names in the industry and was undoubtedly the leading company in India.
Right from the first flip phones to the slider phones and from the gaming phones to the business phones, Nokia gave us all. Not only these phones were sturdy but funky, stylish and distinctive, unlike today's phones where they all look the same. So here are some of the reasons why we can't forget Nokia phones.
Sometimes you would forget where is your mobile charger because the last time you needed it was days ago.
Throw it. Smash it. Crush it. And yet it will survive. It seemed like these were prepared to face an atomic or even a nuclear explosion. Okay that's slightly exaggerated but really Nokia phones had a very strong built.
Who can forget the iconic logo of Nokia, probably the one that stood for trust and credibility. Many even debated over the fact that whether the hands shown in the Logo are Men/Women or Both.
Just like the iconic Logo, Nokia had an iconic and very distinctive Ringtone of its own. It pretty much became one of the identities of the brand. And yes, it was simple but good even slightly soothing.
Snakes & Bounce
No Candy Crush, No Temple Run, No Google Play store, only one or two simple games and yet they entertained us for hours. Completing all the missions in Bounce or breaking the high score in Snakes it was all a matter of life and death. And having Snakes Ex2 in your mobile phone was a proud feeling altogether.
Everyone acted like they were A.R.Rehman and spent hours creating some of the most absurd and funny tunes ever. The best part was that you could use these tunes as your new ringtones.
Apart from the iconic Nokia ringtone and ringtone composer facilities, these phones had very loud speakers. So there was no chance of missing a call because you didn't hear the ringtone because even our neighbours would hear it sometimes.
Well not only they were cheap or affordable but also smaller in size which meant no problem in keeping them in your pockets while you sit.
Quick Typing Race
Quick typing was an art then, only few people could do 120 words per minute without hurting your fingers. Though it felt tiresome or time-consuming at times but having the feeling of press buttons actually felt good.
Long before Emoticons, Smiley's and Stickers, Nokia had its own set of Picture messages that you could send like for Happy Birthday or Good night.
As they say, old is gold, well maybe yes in case of Nokia, we can say that it was a golden age for mobile phones entirely. And just like a war hero, Nokia will always be remembered.
