Transsion Holdings is the 5th largest mobile phone brand in India: Counterpoint Report
Transsion Holdings now accounts for an overall 4 percent market share in Q1 2018 across brands (itel, TECNO & Infinix).
According to a report on India's mobile phone market for Q1 2018 by Counterpoint Research, Transsion Holdings has emerged as the fifth largest player in the mobile phone industry by capturing 4 percent market share in Q1, 2018. The company started its journey in the Indian market with the launch of itel in 2016 and it now accounts for an overall 4 percent market share in Q1 2018 across brands (itel, TECNO & Infinix).
"We are deeply delighted to have achieved this success within 2 years of our operations in India and emerged as one of India's leading mobile phone players. India is a key priority market for Transsion," said Mr. Marco Ma, Chief Managing Director - Transsion India.
Besides itel, Transsion Holdings has also launched four other brands in the country; Tecno, Infinix, Spice and Oraimo. The company currently has the presence all over India with a distribution network of 1.05 lakh retailers and 3,000 plus channel partners.
Additionally, Transsion India has introduced its after-sales service brand, "Carlcare". It has one COCO (company-owned, company-controlled) service center in India with over 1,000 service touch points for all Transsion brands.
Talking about the brands separately, itel usually launches feature phones and entry-level smartphones that are targeted at the budget conscious customers. It recently came up with the S42, A44 and A44 Pro smartphones. As per the Counterpoint report, itel witnessed 17% YoY growth by volume in the feature phone segment.
Tecno is another offline smartphone brand from Transsion India. The has lately been focusing on the launch of its "Camon" series of smartphones in India. Tecno Mobile is also the official smartphone partner for Kings XI Punjab for the ongoing IPL 2018. The report claims the brand is on the verge of making an entry in the top ten smartphone brands in India.
Furthermore, Infinix, the online smartphone brand of Transsion India, has been well received by the consumers. The brand recently launched its first selfie-centric smartphone with Full View display "Hot S3" in Q1 2018. Infinix had launched the flagship "Zero 5" smartphone back in 2017.
