Videocon Mobiles has announced the launch of an affordable smartphone dubbed Metal Pro 2. The smartphone is positioned in the budget price range with a price tag of Rs. 6,999.

The Videocon Metal Pro 2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box and comes with 100 days of replacement policy. The device has been released in two color variants - Gold and Gray and will be made available across the multi-brand retail stores in the country by the end of August. Similar to many other budget smartphones in the market, this one also features the 4G VoLTE connectivity.

The Videocon smartphone arrives with a 5-inch HD 720p display and employs a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC teamed up with 2GB RAM. The default storage capacity is 16GB and the same can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. The imaging aspects of the Videocon Metal Pro 2 comprise of a 13MP rear camera accompanied with LED flash and a 3.2MP selfie camera as well.

The connectivity aspects of the Videocon Metal Pro 2 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB port, dual SIM support and GPS. A 2000mAh battery powers the smartphone from within delivering a moderate backup that we can expect from a budget handset. Measuring 8.4mm in thickness, this smartphone is one of the slim budget devices in the market right now.

According to the company, the Videocon smartphone features the MiraVision technology that works on an advance algorithm model and enhances the visual quality of display just by altering several picture attributes.

In addition to these aspects, the Videocon Metal Pro 2 features the "SOS-Be-Safe" and panic button going by the government's order. The device will be bundled with freebies including one-year of Eros Now subscription and paid versions of select Gameloft games.
