Vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards 2024: Celebrating The Winners And Their Artistic Vision

The second edition of the vivo Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards was launched earlier this year by vivo India. Recently, the winners were announced at a special event held at Taj Santacruz in Mumbai. These awards aim to inspire photographers to explore their creativity and showcase their unique perspectives using smartphone cameras, according to the company.

The competition saw over 17,000 entries, with 30 finalists chosen after a rigorous selection process. These finalists attended masterclasses led by the esteemed jury and completed a challenge to refine their skills. From these, six top finalists were selected by the jury.

Celebrating Creativity in Smartphone Photography

Kukkala Suresh emerged as the grand prize winner with his photograph titled "Night and Light." His image, which combined technical skill with artistic vision, stood out among thousands of entries. Suresh received INR 5 lakh for his remarkable work.

Each of the six category winners was awarded a vivo X100 Pro (Review) smartphone. The winners included Bandish Ravindra Wadayekar for Architecture, Soumyasikha Manna for Street & Culture, Rathin Dey for Nature and Landscape, and Kukkala Suresh for Night and Light categories.

Expert Jury Panel Evaluates Entries

The jury panel consisted of filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and renowned photographers Vineet Vohra, Rakesh Pulapa, and Aamir Wani. They assessed the entries based on creativity, technical expertise, and storytelling ability.

Geetaj Channana, Head of Corporate Strategy at vivo India, expressed excitement about the awards ceremony. He stated that the awards demonstrate that photography is driven by vision rather than tools. He congratulated all winners for showcasing exceptional talent from across India.

A Platform for Budding Photographers

Zoya Akhtar shared her thoughts on being part of this journey. She praised the participants' creativity and dedication as awe-inspiring. Akhtar highlighted photography as a powerful storytelling medium and commended vivo for providing a platform that helps budding photographers enhance their skills and share their perspectives globally.

The event underscored vivo's commitment to advancing mobile photography experiences through innovative technology while celebrating imaginative talent across India.
