Vivo S20, Vivo S20 Pro Launch Confirmed as Pre-reservations Go Live: Rear Camera Island Teased

We are set to have a busy couple of weeks Redmi, iQOO, and OPPO all gear up to unveil their affordable flagship smartphones. Now, Vivo is also preparing to launch two new smartphones in its S series in China.

The Vivo S20 series is currently up for pre-reservation in China. The line-up will include the Vivo S20 and Vivo V20 Pro. Following its launch in China, the Vivo S20 series will debut as the Vivo V50 series internationally and in India.

Vivo S20 Series Launch Timeline

As of now, there is no official launch date for the Vivo S20 series in China, although we expect it to take place later this month or in the first half of December. Those interested can pre-reserve the Vivo S20 series through the company's official website.

Vivo is also providing several offers for customers for pre-reserve the S20 series in China, including a Flash Charging Kit, a one-year extended warranty, and the chance to win various other prizes including the Vivo Pad 3 Pro, Vivo TWS 4, and more.

The launch of the Vivo S20 series lines up with last year's Vivo S18 series, which was unveiled in December 2023. We expect the Vivo S20 and S20 Pro to debut as the Vivo V50 and V50 Pro in India and globally in the first quarter of 2025. It is unclear whether Vivo's collaboration with ZEISS will be leveraged on the S20 series or just the V50 series internationally.

Vivo S20 Series: What to Expect?

The Vivo S20 Pro is expected to use a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, while the standard variant could be downgraded to mid-tier Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. The Vivo S20 series could also feature a 1.5K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Vivo S20 will pack a 5,500 mAh battery, while the Pro variant could opt for a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Both phones are rumored to support 90W wired fast charging.

Moreover, the Vivo S20 Pro will feature a trio of 50MP camera sensors, including a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope unit, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
