The Vivo S60 series is set to make its debut in China later today. The line-up will include the Vivo S60 and Vivo S60 Vitality Edition, although reports also suggest the Vivo S60 Pro could tag along. Vivo is also launching the TWS 5e true wireless earbuds and the company's first over-the-ear headphones at the event.

Vivo S60 Series Launch: How to Watch the Livestream

The Vivo S60 series is launching in China at 07:30 pm local time or 04:00 pm IST today. Those interested in watching Vivo's event in real-time can do so on the company's dedicated microsite or Weibo handle.

Vivo S60 Series Launching Today: What to Expect

The new S60 line may also hint at Vivo's global plans. The earlier S50 reached markets outside China as the V70 Elite with only minor changes, so a V80 Elite with specifications close to the S60 would not be unexpected. The source of the latest details is a Chinese report referencing a Weibo post.

This also suggests that the Vivo S60 series will be rebranded in India and other global markets as the Vivo V80 series.

Vivo S60 Series Specifications: What to Expect

The leak suggests the standard vivo S60 will feature a 6.59-inch flat display with 1260p resolution, running on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. A metal frame, glass rear panel and IP68 plus IP69 ratings point to a focus on durability, with protection against dust and water.

According to the tipster, the Vitality Edition mostly mirrors the regular S60 in design and core hardware. However, it reportedly swaps the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for a Dimensity 7500 processor and drops the dedicated telephoto camera, which also brings the weight down to 199g.

Camera hardware appears to be a major selling point for the main S60 model. The leak lists a 50MP primary rear camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, using Sony's IMX882 sensor. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera is said to sit within the display.

Both versions are tipped to share a 7,200 mAh battery with 90W wired charging, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an IR blaster and an X-axis linear vibration motor. The S60 allegedly measures 157.52 x 74.33 x 7.92 mm and weighs 207g due to the extra rear camera hardware.

Vivo Over-Ear Headphones: What to Expect

The new headset will include active noise cancellation, Spatial Audio support, and multi-device pairing. vivo states the battery will last up to 75 hours. The launch targets long listening use.

Hardware for the wireless over-ear headphones includes 40mm dynamic drivers and Hi-Res Audio Gold certification. vivo claims the system delivers active noise reduction of up to 58dB. The headphones weigh 238 grams and use soft leather earcups. Buyers will see two colour choices at launch, purple and white.

Official teasers on Weibo have already shown the design, highlighting the padded headband and earcups. The specification list points to a focus on comfort, long battery life, and detailed audio. These details place vivo's first wireless over-ear headphones as a key launch for the brand's audio range.
