Vivo V29 Launched with Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, 120Hz AMOLED Display, IP68 Rating
Vivo is expected to launch its upcoming V series in India and globally this month (Upcoming Smartphones August 2023). However, ahead of that launch, the Chinese smartphone maker dropped the Vivo V29 in Europe.
The Vivo V29 arrives with a Snapdragon chipset, a vibrant AMOLED display, a sizeable battery with fast charging support, and a dual-camera setup on the back. The Vivo V29 debuts as a rebranded version of the Vivo S17, which was unveiled in China earlier this year.
Vivo V29 Specifications
The Vivo V29 price in Europe is yet to be confirmed, although the phone is expected to fall in the sub-35K segment in India. The Vivo V29 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC paired with the Adreno 642L GPU. The chip will also be accompanied by 8GB of RAM.
While Vivo has not provided details about the V29's storage capacity, it will likely max out at 256GB and up to 8GB of that storage can be utilised as virtual RAM. The Vivo V29 packs a 4,600 mAh battery with 80W FlashCharge support that is said to be able to take the handset from 1% to 50% in 18 minutes.

The Vivo V29 sports a 6.78-inch 3D Curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a pixel density of 452 PPI. The panel boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a DCI-P3 grade colour coverage. The Vivo V29 runs Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 out of the box.
For optics, the Vivo V29 gets a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP primary "Ultra-Sensing Camera" with OIS support. There's no information about the second lens, but it will likely be an 8 MP ultrawide lens. Up front, the Vivo V29 features a 50 MP "HD Camera" for selfies.
Vivo V29 Design
The Vivo V29 features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Vivo V29 comes in Peak Blue and Noble Black colour options. Additionally, the Peak Blue model features an industry-first design with 15 million micron-sized 3D magnetic particles.
The Vivo V29 also features a ring-shaped Aura Light on the back which introduces integration of "Smart Colour Temperature Adjustment." This will allow the device to adapt to diverse environments with varying colour temperatures, "providing users with the expertise of a personal light designer."
