Vivo V50 Elite Edition Launching Today in India: How Does It Compare to the V50?
Vivo is set to quietly launch its Vivo V50 Elite in India today at 12 PM (IST), expanding the V50 series with a new addition that carries the "Elite" branding for the first time.
This marks the third entry in the lineup, following the Vivo V50 and Vivo V50e, but with a design and feature set that could distinguish it from its predecessors.

A New Design Language
One of the most anticipated changes in the Vivo V50 Elite is its design. Reports suggest that the phone will feature a circular camera island, moving away from the pill-shaped module seen in the previous V50 models. This design shift hints at possible improvements in camera architecture, perhaps even new sensor technology that Vivo is looking to showcase with this model.
In addition to the new camera layout, Vivo has confirmed that the V50 Elite's cameras are co-engineered with Zeiss. This partnership, which has been part of Vivo's strategy for some time, is expected to deliver enhanced image clarity, better low-light performance, and sharper portrait shots.
What to Expect: Comparing It with the Vivo V50
Vivo has remained tight-lipped about the full specifications of the Vivo V50 Elite, but the existing Vivo V50 provides a good reference for what we might expect:
Display
The V50 features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, HDR10+ support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also boasts 4,500 nits of peak brightness and Diamond Shield Glass protection.
Processor
Under the hood, the V50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, clocked at 2.63GHz. This chipset balances power and efficiency, handling multitasking and gaming without major hiccups.
Battery
Battery life has always been a strong point for Vivo's V series. The Vivo V50 packs a 6000mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging.
Camera Setup
The Vivo V50 already comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front camera-all co-engineered with Zeiss. Given the Elite branding, we might expect improvements in sensor technology or image processing, particularly in portrait modes and low-light photography.
Durability
The V50 is IP69-rated for water and dust resistance, which is one of the highest protection ratings available for smartphones.
Elite Branding: More Than Just a Name?
Vivo has hinted that the Elite branding is more than just cosmetic. According to teasers, the phone is designed to deliver "sound that surrounds and portraits that captivate."
Launch Details and Availability
The Vivo V50 Elite will be available for purchase directly through Vivo India. Whether the device will also be available through other online or offline retailers remains uncertain. Pricing details are expected to be announced during the launch event.
For reference, the Vivo V50 is priced at ₹34,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, so the Elite edition is likely to be positioned slightly higher, reflecting its upgraded features.
