Vivo V50 Launching in India Soon as Landing Page Goes Live: Key Specifications and Design Confirmed

The Vivo V50 launch in India appears to be just around the corner as an official landing page for the phone has gone live on Vivo's website in India. Vivo's official landing page also confirms that only the Vivo V50 will be unveiled in India with no word on the V50 Pro.

Moreover, unlike past iterations of the Vivo V series, which are often rebrands of the Vivo S series, take for example, the Vivo S19 series in China that was rebranded as the Vivo V40 series globally, the Vivo V50 appears to be different.

Vivo V50 Design and Build

The official landing page reveals the Vivo V50's curved design, which has become synonymous with the V series. However, the Vivo S20 featured a flat display with rounded edges. The overall design is similar to that of the Vivo V40 (Review).

Moreover, the landing page also reveals the three colour options for the Vivo V50, including Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Blue, which is the first to use '3D-Star technology' in India.

The Vivo V50's screen will also be protected by Diamond Shield Glass, which is said to be 50% more drop-resistant compared to Schott glass on its predecessor. Vivo's upcoming V series smartphone will also feature an IP68+IP69 rating for flagship-grade dust and water resistance.

Vivo V50 Cameras and Other Specifications

Vivo also revealed details about the V50's cameras. The phone will retain the dual-camera setup from last year, opting for a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide lens with AF. Both cameras will support 4K video recording. Up front, the Vivo V50 will come with a 50MP selfie camera with AF.

All three cameras on the Vivo V50 are co-engineered with ZEISS, offering 7 classic ZEISS style bokeh effects. Additionally, the circular Aura flash module also makes an appearance on the back. The Vivo V50 will pack a massive 6,000 mAh battery, making it the slimmest smartphone with a battery that size in the segment.

Vivo also claims the battery on the V50 will offer smooth performance for 60 months. The phone is also expected to feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display.
