Vivo V60 Tipped to Launch in August With Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, May Bring OriginOS to India for the First Time
Vivo's upcoming V60 smartphone has started showing up across multiple certification databases, suggesting its launch might be closer than expected. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed anything yet, a fresh leak from tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the Vivo V60 could launch in India on August 19, 2025.
That’s not all. The leak also hints at a possible global debut of OriginOS, the software previously exclusive to Vivo's China lineup. If true, it would mark a significant strategic shift for the brand’s global software roadmap.

OriginOS Might Finally Leave China
OriginOS is Vivo’s custom Android skin, currently limited to China, while users in other regions get FuntouchOS. For years, the divide has left international users with a completely different experience, often criticized for inconsistent UI and bloated features.

According to Yadav, OriginOS could debut alongside the V60, and this version would be based on Android 16. If this rollout does happen globally, it won’t mean an immediate replacement of FuntouchOS, but it could signal Vivo’s intent to unify its software platform, or at least align closer to what it offers in its home market.
Earlier reports have floated the idea of OriginOS expanding beyond China, and this leak adds fuel to that speculation.
What We Know About the Vivo V60 (So Far)
Leaks and certification listings have already painted a fairly detailed picture of the upcoming V60, even before any official teaser.
Here’s a breakdown of the expected specs:
- Processor: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC
- Software: Android 15 (possibly upgradable to OriginOS on Android 16)
- RAM: At least 8GB
- Display: 6.67-inch OLED, 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate
- Security: In-display fingerprint sensor
- Build: IP69 water and dust resistance
Battery and Charging Details
Battery performance looks promising on paper. The phone is expected to feature a 6,500 mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging, as revealed in the TUV certification listing. This could make the V60 stand out in its segment, especially if the phone manages to stay slim and balanced despite the large battery.
Storage type is rumored to be UFS 2.2 (UFS 3.1 could have been better here).
Triple Camera Setup With Periscope Zoom
The Vivo V60 could sport a triple rear camera system, based on leaks:
- 50MP main sensor with OIS
- 50MP periscope telephoto (3x optical zoom) with OIS
- 8MP auxiliary sensor, possibly ultrawide or macro
A periscope lens on a standard V series model would mark a first for Vivo's non-Pro lineup.
Expected Timeline
While the leak suggests August 19 as the launch date, Vivo hasn't dropped any official teasers yet. That could change soon. If the company follows its usual pattern, we might see pre-launch promotional material or invites roll out by early August.
Until then, it’s worth watching whether the OriginOS global rollout rumor gains traction through additional software leaks or beta programs.
