Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 Launch Imminent Following Citing on GSMA Database
Chinese smartphone maker Vivo appears to be preparing a fresh wave of mid-range smartphones for its home market. The upcoming Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 have now surfaced on the GSMA database, hinting that both devices are moving closer to an official launch in China.
While Vivo has not yet confirmed the handsets publicly, the new listings suggest that internal registrations and certification procedures are already underway.

Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 Spotted on GSMA Database
According to a report by PassionateGeekz, the Vivo V80 has appeared on the GSMA database carrying the model number V2630. Meanwhile, the Vivo S2 has reportedly been listed with the model number V2576. Although the listings do not reveal any hardware specifications, pricing details, or launch timelines, such certifications usually indicate that smartphone brands are preparing devices for commercial release.
The Vivo V80 is expected to arrive as the successor to the Vivo V70 series. Leaks surrounding the handset remain limited at the moment, but it is likely to continue Vivo's focus on camera-centric smartphones. Similar to its predecessor, the device could offer Zeiss-tuned portrait photography capabilities, a slim form factor, and premium mid-range hardware.
The Vivo S2, on the other hand, is expected to debut first in China under Vivo's S-series lineup. Historically, Vivo's S-series smartphones have focused heavily on selfie cameras, stylish designs, and slim builds aimed at younger consumers.
Launch and Certification Details
The appearance of both smartphones on the GSMA database is significant because it often marks one of the early steps before additional certifications and eventual launches. Smartphone manufacturers typically register devices internally before they begin appearing on regulatory platforms such as TENAA, 3C, or Bluetooth SIG databases.
At present, Vivo has not shared any official teaser or launch schedule for either smartphone. However, with the certification process seemingly underway, more leaks and details regarding both devices are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
Expected Specifications
Rumours suggest that the Vivo V80 could be based on the yet-to-launch Vivo S60. If true, the handset may feature a 6.59-inch display, a large 7,000mAh battery, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The phone is also expected to retain Vivo's strong emphasis on photography features.
Meanwhile, specifications for the Vivo S2 remain largely unknown. There is currently no confirmed information regarding its processor, camera setup, battery capacity, or display details. Still, given Vivo's previous S-series launches, the smartphone could focus on enhanced selfie performance and fashionable design elements.
