Vivo X Fold 5 Set to Launch on June 25 - Here's Everything We Know So Far

Vivo has officially confirmed the launch date for its upcoming foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5. The announcement was made via the brand's official Weibo account, revealing that the device will debut on June 25 at 7 PM (local time).

In addition to the foldable phone, Vivo will debut a new pair of wireless earbuds named TWS Air 3 Pro on the same day. The official teaser for the X Fold 5 comes with the tagline, "Lighter and Stronger'', suggesting improvements in both durability and performance.

Vivo X Fold 5 Launch in China Confirmed

As of now, Vivo is preparing to launch the X Fold 5 in China, with no official word yet on its global release, including in India. Last year, the brand launched only the Pro variant in the country. So it remains to be seen if it comes in the future.

Moreover, the latest teaser of the Vivo X Fold 5 confirms the phone will be offered in three colour options namely: Pine Green, White, and Titanium. It will also feature a Zeiss-branded circular camera module.

While the overall design appears similar to its predecessor, official images show a new physical button on the left side, replacing the previous mute switch.

Vivo X Fold 5 - What We Know So Far

The Vivo X Fold 5 is confirmed to feature LTPO 8T panels on both its inner and outer screens and will be based on the Zeiss Master Colour technology. These panels will deliver an adaptive refresh rate for smooth visuals during activities like scrolling and gaming. The phone will also feature 4,500-nit local peak brightness.

The phone will also come with full-brightness high-frequency PWM dimming paired with TÜV Rheinland's Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification to safeguard eyes during prolonged use. One of the standout features of the Vivo X Fold 5 is its seamless integration with Apple's ecosystem, making it the first Android phone to offer.

Moreover, the phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The Vivo X Fold 5 will likely measure 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.3mm when folded. The cover display is expected to be a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the main inner display will span 8.03 inches, featuring AMOLED technology, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2K resolution.
