Vivo X20 Plus UD price and availability details announced: Pre-order starts today
Vivo has now launched Vivo X20 Plus UD and has announced the price as well as the availability details of the smartphone.
Vivo after officially unveiling the world's first commercial smartphone Vivo X20 Plus UD with an in-display fingerprint sensor earlier, the Chinese handset maker has now launched the smartphone and has announced the price as well as the availability details. If we recall, Vivo had first showcased a smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018.
In any case, the new device Vivo X20 Plus UD with in-display fingerprint sensor has been released in China for now. The new smartphone is priced at RMB 3,598 (approximately Rs. 36,091) and preorders start from today.
It is worth mentioning that the new smartphone features similar design language and specifications as the Vivo X20 Plus. The only difference though is the under display scanner. Talking about the new technology, Vivo X20 Plus UD will use the in-display fingerprint scanner, called 'Clear ID' from Synaptics. According to the company behind the tech, the scanner sends beams of light through the OLED panel, and then accurately reads the fingerprint to verify the user. The sensor is placed between the OLED display and the mainboard.
Meanwhile, Synaptics has already claimed that Clear ID is faster than alternative biometrics such as 3D facial, highly-secure with SentryPoint technology, and very convenient with one-touch/one-step biometric authentication directly in the touchscreen display area of smartphones.
The new Synaptics Clear ID optical fingerprint sensor is said to deliver one-touch high-resolution scanning through the full cover glass and enable sleek, button-free, bezel-free infinity displays making the smartphones look more appealing. "Synaptics' high-performance Clear ID FS9500 optical solution excels with wet, dry and cold fingers, and since it's protected by glass, is durable, scratchproof and waterproof," the company had announced.
Display, Processor, RAM and Storage
Talking about key specifications and features, Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with a 6.43-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display also gets a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layering on top for added protection.
The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 512 GPU. The handset offers 128GB of internal storage and the memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card.
Cameras
In terms of cameras, X20 Plus UD sports a dual-camera setup at the rear with a combination of 12-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor Up front, there is a 12-megapixel sensor with soft LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.
Other Features
Moving on, the smartphone is backed by a 3905mAh battery and comes with support for fast charging. The handset offers connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, USB Type-C port and dual-SIM slot. Sensors on board include an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity Sensor, Magnetometer, Ambient Light Sensor. Vivo X20 Plus UD measures 165.2 x 80.02 x 7.35 mm and weighs 183.1 grams.
