Vivo X30 5G To Leverage Samsung's Exynos 980 Chipset; Launch In 2020

Vivo has officially confirmed the launch of the Vivo X30 5G, which will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 980 SoC, during a co-conference in China. This will be the first 5G smartphone from Vivo based on a mid-tier 5G chipset from Samsung which was unveiled in September 2019.

The Exynos 980 SoC is a mid-tier processor based on 8nm FinFET fabrication. The chipset follows little big architecture with two high-performance cores based on Cortex A-77 with 2.2GHz frequency, and six efficient cores based on Cortex A-55 with 1.8GHz clock speed. Plus, the graphics part is handled by the Mali-G76 MP5 GPU.

Coming to 5G networking capability, the Exynos 980 supports dual-mode 5G with a maximum download speed of 2.55Gbps. The modem can offer up to 3.55Gbps speed using 5G and 4G downlinks combined.

Vivo X30 5G Specifications

Though the company hasn't revealed much about its upcoming phone, leaks suggest that the Vivo X30 5G will offer the following features. As per the leaked, the Vivo X30 5G will come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will offer up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage with no information regarding memory expansion.

As per the rumors, the Vivo X30 5G will have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera, 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, 8MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Besides, the phone will also house a 32MP selfie camera.

A 4,500 mAh battery will power the smartphone with support for fast charging. Plus, the Vivo X30 Pro 5G is also on cards with a slightly bigger 6.89-inch display and a slight change in the primary camera unit with dual 13MP, a 12MP, and a 64MP primary camera.

These smartphones are likely to hit the market in early 2020 and will be made available in select markets only.
