Vivo Y300i Budget 5G Smartphone Launched with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, 120Hz Display, Android 15

Vivo has launched the Y300i, its latest 5G smartphone in the Y series, in China. This model succeeds last year's Y200i. It features a 6.68-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5MP front camera housed in the notch. The device operates on Android 15 with Origin OS 15.

The Vivo Y300i is equipped with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and offers up to 12GB of RAM, with an additional 12GB of extended RAM available. It includes a 50MP rear camera and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by a substantial 6500mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging.

Specifications and Features

The smartphone's display measures 6.68 inches with a resolution of 1608×720 pixels, offering an HD+ experience. It boasts an octa-core Snapdragon processor built on a 4nm platform, featuring two A78-based CPUs clocked at 2.2 GHz and six A55-based CPUs at 2GHz, paired with an Adreno 613 GPU.

Available in two RAM options-8GB or 12GB-the Vivo Y300i also provides storage choices of either 256GB or 512GB using UFS 2.2 technology. The device's rear camera has a f/1.8 aperture and is complemented by an LED flash, while the front-facing camera has an f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity and Design

The phone supports various connectivity options including USB Type-C audio, stereo speakers, and multiple network bands like 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C ports.

In terms of design dimensions, it measures approximately 165.70×76.30×8.09mm for black jade and titanium variants, while the rime blue variant is slightly thicker at around 8.19mm; the black version is slimmer at about 7.99mm. The weight varies slightly between colours: Jade Black and Titanium weigh about 205g each, whereas Rime Blue weighs around 206g.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo Y300i is priced at approximately Rs.18,000 (1499 yuan) for the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The variant with higher specifications-12GB RAM and the same storage-costs around Rs.19,200 (1599 yuan). The top-tier model featuring both increased RAM (12GB) and storage (512GB) is priced at roughly Rs.21,600 (1799 yuan). Customers can place orders starting today; sales will commence in China from March 14th.
