Vivo is gearing up to unveil a new smartphone in its Y series in China soon and it will feature one of the largest batteries on a commercial smartphone to date. The Vivo Y500 launch date in China is set for September 1.
Vivo Y500: What We Know So Far!
The Vivo Y500 is set to replace last year's Y300. The company highlights an impressive 8200mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the previous 6500mAh, claiming it to be their longest-lasting battery yet.

Additionally, Vivo has confirmed advanced waterproofing features with IP69+/IP69/IP68 ratings, marking it as their most robust protection against dust and water. The Y500 also boasts SGS Gold Label five-star certification for drop and impact resistance, alongside military-standard environmental testing.
Vivo states that this phone represents several milestones in their history. The teaser image reveals a punch-hole display, dual rear cameras with ring LED flash, and colour options including Black, Blue, and Violet.
Vivo Y500 Specifications (Expected)
According to Digital Chat Station, a known leaker, the Y500 will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, an upgrade from the Dimensity 6300 used in its predecessor. It will maintain an FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a secondary lens and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Further details about the Y500 are expected to emerge soon as its official launch approaches next week. This new model promises to deliver enhanced performance and durability features that set it apart from previous iterations.
