The Vivo Y500 Pro has officially been unveiled in China. However, the most recent addition to Vivo's Y series comes with a mix of upgrades and downgrades compared to its predecessor.

Vivo Y500 Pro Price
It comes in four configurations: the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs CNY 1,799 (roughly INR 22,400), while other options include an 8/256GB version for CNY 1,999 (roughly INR 24,900), a 12/256GB version for CNY 2,299 (roughly INR 28,600), and a top-tier model with 12/512GB priced at CNY 2,599 (roughly INR 32,300).

Vivo Y500 Pro Specifications
The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC, providing a slight speed boost over the Y400 Pro 7300 SoC due to a 100MHz faster clock speed. RAM options include 8GB or an expanded 12GB, which was not available in the previous model.
The Vivo Y500 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Diamond Shield glass. This screen is slightly smaller than the Y400 Pro's 6.77-inch display. Despite being heavier, the Y500 Pro boasts enhanced durability with IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it more resistant to water and dust. It also holds the industry's first national standard reliability certification.
One of the significant improvements in the Y500 Pro is its battery capacity, now at 7,000mAh-22% larger than before-while maintaining 90W charging capabilities. In terms of photography, the phone now sports a single-lens camera system with a 200MP sensor featuring a larger 1/1.56-inch size. The selfie camera remains unchanged at 32MP with an f/2.5 aperture.
However, not all changes are positive; the storage technology has been downgraded from UFS 3.1 to UFS 2.2 compared to its predecessor. This could impact data transfer speeds for users who require high performance in this area.
Overall, while there are some trade-offs in terms of storage technology and weight increase, the vivo Y500 Pro brings notable enhancements in processing power and battery life that may appeal to users seeking these specific improvements.
