When is the iPhone 17 Coming? Did a New Leak Just Confirm the Date of Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 17 Launch Event
Apple is gearing up to introduce its iPhone 17 series soon. Although the company hasn't officially announced the launch, a German publisher has leaked the date of Apple's next event, which aligns with previous rumours.
The iPhone 17 lineup will likely include four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The first two models are expected to feature an A19 chip, while the Pro versions might boast a more advanced A19 Pro chipset.

iPhone 17 Series Launch Date and Sales Timeline
According to local mobile phone providers cited by German publication iPhone-ticker.de, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9. Following its usual post-keynote schedule, pre-orders for the new lineup are anticipated to start on Friday, September 12. Official sales and shipments could commence a week later, on September 19.
In line with these reports, earlier rumours also suggested that Apple would announce the iPhone 17 series in the second week of September. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously hinted at an event scheduled between September 8 and September 12. Historically, Apple has launched its flagship iPhones in September; last year's iPhone 16 series was revealed on September 9 during the 'It's Glowtime' event.
Additional Product Announcements
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is expected to introduce its third-generation AirPods Pro and new Apple Watch models. These announcements will likely coincide with the unveiling of the iPhone 17 series. The standard models in this lineup are anticipated to come with an A19 chip, while the Pro variants may feature an A19 Pro chipset.
The display sizes for these devices are also speculated upon. The standard iPhone 17 and Pro models might have a 6.3-inch screen. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air could sport a slightly larger 6.5-inch display, and the Pro Max version might offer a sizable 6.9-inch screen.
Design and Pricing Details
Design-wise, it is expected that the iPhone 17, Air, and Pro will have aluminium frames. In contrast, the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max may continue using a titanium frame for added luxury. Except for the base model, all other versions might see a price increase of approximately $50 (around Rs. 4,000) compared to their predecessors in the iPhone 16 series.
The latest report also mentions leaked images of an exceptionally slim battery profile for the iPhone 17 Air. This aligns with Apple's trend towards sleeker designs in recent years. Apple's consistent pattern of launching new products in September suggests that these leaks could be accurate.
