Will Samsung Galaxy Note 8 give a tough competition to iPhone 8?

Samsung last week unveiled its flagship Galaxy Note 8. The much-anticipated device was subject to numerous leaks and rumors. So even before the official launch, most of its features and specs were revealed.

As predicted by tipster Evan Blass, the pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the US started on August 24. The phablet is slated to go on sale from September 15 onwards. Well, if the rumors are true, that is around the same time when the iPhone 8 will be unveiled. Apple is said to take the wraps off its 2017 flagship on September 12. This is certainly a marketing strategy taken by Samsung to grab a market share from Apple.

Coming to the price factor, the Galaxy Note 8 is priced around $1000 (over Rs. 60,000), making it the most expensive flagship of this year. In comparison, the iPhone 8 is also speculated to carry a price tag of more than $1000.

However, the 10th anniversary model of iPhone is said to come with some exceptional features. On the other hand, except for the rear dual cameras and the advanced stylus, all the features on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are the same as the Galaxy S8 duo.

So despite the Galaxy Note 8 is an impressive device, people will wait for the unveiling of iPhone 8 to make a certain purchase decision. Other than that, Chinese biggie Xiaomi is also rumored to drop its flagship Mi Mix 2 on September 12. While we are not likely to see a US launch for the Xiaomi phone, for other markets it might make a difference.
