Windows 10 OS update for older Lumia Smartphones delayed to early 2016

Windows Phone users will have to be patient to receive Windows 10 update on their phones. While the Windows 10 phones have been launched in India, the older Lumia models are yet to receive Windows 10 updates.

The High end Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950XL are available in the market sport the Windows 10. However, Microsoft has launched the Microsoft Lumia 550, a Windows 10 Smartphone that is budget friendly for the price less than 10K. The phone will release on December 23rd and will be available across India.

Older Lumia users are currently running the Windows 8 and the Windows 8.1 on their phones. Users will get an update for the latest Windows 10 OS only next year. Microsoft had planned earlier to roll out Windows 10 updates to its phones in December, but there is a delay and the phones are likely to receive updates only next year. Microsoft told Zdnet.

It looks like Windows phone users will have to wait even longer until they get their hands on the latest Windows 10 OS. The company has announced that Microsoft says the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade will begin early next year to select devices running Windows Phone 8 and 8.1.
