Windows 10 said to be powering over a million Windows phones

A million Windows smartphones now run the Windows 10 operating system. This was revealed by ZDNet on its Windows Weekly podcast. Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet spoke of the development on the weekly podcast. While Foley has declined to cite sources on the data she revealed that the new Windows 10 OS was powering 180 million PC's and 18 million Xbox Ones.

Windows 10 said to be powering over a million Windows phones

The data comes days after Microsoft revealed that more than 200 million active devices worldwide were running Windows 10. However, it was not reveal which type of devices were running Windows 10 OS.

According to market research firm Net applications, Windows 10 claims nearly 10% of the market share for Desktop PC's. Windows 10 was launched nearly five months ago and the company had promised that it would provide free upgrade to users having original Windows OS installed on their Devices. It also promised that even devices running Windows 7 will get the upgrade.
