Xiaomi 12 Pro Receiving MIUI 14 Based on Android 13 Update

Xiaomi is rolling out MIUI 14 update based on Android 13 for the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone in India, the company confirmed on its Twitter handle on Tuesday. The Android 13 update was announced a while back, and the company has been quick to keep its word and roll out a stable version of the update for its flagship smartphone.

MIUI 14 Based on Android 13: What's New?

The new update based on Android 13 introduces new features on the Xiaomi 12 Pro such as a redesigned home screen, icons, widgets, folders, along with the native Android 13 features. The MIUI 14 update also improves performance. For instance, faster launch times for apps, and better battery life.

MIUI 14 for the Xiaomi 12 Pro adds the ability to remove objects from photos. The update also adds support for dual apps and the ability to take notes while reading with an added sidebar.

The update brings foreground RAM optimizations, improving performance by 11% and background RAM usage efficiency by 6%, the company said. The update also adds six new wallpapers along with 39 new visual effects.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Specs and Features

The Xiaomi 12 Pro launched in April 2022. The smartphone features a 6.72-inch AMOLED display with 1440p resolution and 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and boasts of 1500 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, with 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It's a camera flagship featuring a 50MP primary camera, 50MP telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide camera. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera.

The smartphone runs on a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, along with 50W wireless charging. The phone also incorporates dual 5G, and features quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos Support.

The smartphone launched in India at a price of Rs 62,999 for the base variant. Later in February this year, it received a price cut and is now available at Rs 52,999.
