Xiaomi 13 Ultra Leak Reveals Potential Global Launch in Q2 2023

Xiaomi recently unveiled its 13 series of smartphones, with the Xiaomi 13 Pro making its way to India for a price tag of Rs. 79,999. The 13 Pro is the top-end smartphone from the company, but that's soon going to change, as according to a new leak, the company is brewing up its ultra-flagship, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, for a global launch.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra Rumored to debut in Q2 2023

Ice Universe, a prominent tipster, tweeted that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be released in global markets, and Snoopy Tech, another tipster, revealed that the flagship could debut in May 2023.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra Leak Reveals Potential Global Launch in Q2 2023

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which was released in China last year, did not make a global debut, but the 13 Ultra could switch things up. If the rumors pan out, this could be great news for Xiaomi fans who want to get the latest and greatest from the company.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Design and Specifications

A real-world image of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has previously leaked, giving us a good idea of how the device will look.

The iconic DSLR-like camera module of the 12S Ultra appears to be carried over to the 13 Ultra. The former featured a large circular camera housing with the signature 1-inch sensor and Leica branding.

The 13 Ultra appears to have a white covering with visible stitches on the sides, implying that it will have a faux leather finish like the 12S Ultra. It also features a quad-camera setup with the Leica logo in the center. In addition, the phone appears to have a dual LED flash.

The leaked camera module design could indicate that the upcoming device will have a periscope camera, similar to the 12S Ultra, which housed a 48MP periscope lens, as well as a 1-inch sensor, possibly the same Sony IMX989 50MP sensor found in the 12S Ultra.

Aside from optics, the device could be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, or even the 8+ Gen 2 if Qualcomm releases one later. It is expected to sport a 6.7-inch, 120Hz, WQHD+ AMOLED display with curved edges and a hole-punch cutout at the center. The device is expected to ship with Android 13 out of the box with MIUI 14 on top.

Xiaomi may first release the device in China, followed by other global markets. The details of an Indian launch are unknown because the 12S Ultra did not make it to the country. We'll keep you posted if any new developments emerge.
