Xiaomi 15 Series Launch Date Announced: Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, Leica Cameras, LTPO OLED Displays, Confirmed

Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date for its upcoming flagship smartphones. The Xaiomi 15 series was recently confirmed to be the first smartphones to incorporate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

However, no official launch date for the Xiaomi 15 series was provided, until now. Apart from the incorporation of the new Snapdragon chip, the Xiaomi 15 series will also be the company's first to run Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0.

Xiaomi 15 Series Launch Date

The Xiaomi 15 series launch date in China is set for October 29 at 07:00 pm local time or 04:30 pm IST. As of now, it is unclear when the Xiaomi 15 series will be unveiled in India or globally.

The line-up will include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, while an 'Ultra' model is expected to follow in the first quarter of 2025. According to reports, the Xiaomi 15 price in China will start from CNY 4,599 (roughly Rs 54,400), while the Xiaomi 15 Pro will start from CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs 62,700).

Xiaomi 15 Series Specifications

The Xiaomi 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It will come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The vanilla Xiaomi 15 could pack a 5,500 mAh battery, while the 'Pro' model might get a 6,000 mAh cell. The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to support 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support, although the 'Pro' model may support 80W of wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 15 series will sport LTPO OLED screens with adaptive 120Hz refresh rates, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. The Xiaomi 15 will feature a flat screen, while the 'Pro' model will opt for a Quad Micro Curved display. The Xiaomi 15 series will also feature a trio of 50MP cameras for the main, ultrawide, and telephoto (3.2x optical zoom) lenses. Moreover, the 'Pro' model could opt for a more capable periscope (5x optical zoom) lens.

The cameras on the Xiaomi 15 series will be co-developed with Leica. Up front, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to get a 32MP selfie camera.
