Xiaomi 15 Ultra Early Leaks Hint at an Upgraded 200MP Telephoto Camera With 10x Optical Zoom

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be the upcoming flagship of the brand. While the launch is still a long way off, rumours and leaks have already started buzzing the internet. Now, the camera specifications of Xiaomi's upcoming flagship model have surfaced online.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Camera Features Revealed

According to the SmartPrix report, the brand will use an upgraded version of the Sony LYT-900 camera sensor for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's main camera, which is expected to offer improved low-light performance.

The report suggests the handset will get a 200MP telephoto camera with a 10x optical zoom, an upgrade over 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom available on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. In addition, the smartphone is expected to feature an upgraded 50MP selfie camera, which will replace the 32MP front camera on its predecessor. The smartphone is also likely to come with dedicated 4K video recording support.

Moreover, previous reports suggest the Xiaomi 15 Ultra could feature a micro-curvature design and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. It will likely support 2K resolution and run HyperOS 2.0-based Android 15. The device might pack a massive 6,200mAh battery. The charging speed and display size are still unknown at this moment.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is most likely to come with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which will be announced at the Snapdragon Summit in October 2024. If rumours are to be believed, Xiaomi has an exclusive deal with Qualcomm for the first launch, followed by both OnePlus & iQOO.

Both the Xiaomi 15 and the 15 Pro are expected to be the first devices to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. The next-gen SoC is confirmed to come with Qualcomm's custom Oryon CPU with an improved NPU performance.

However, the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series is yet to be announced. We expect to get more details in the coming days.
