Xiaomi 15 Ultra Launched in India With 200MP Periscope Lens, Snapdragon 8 Elite, HyperOS 2.0, and More

Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in India, bringing its most premium smartphone to the market. The device, which first debuted in China, comes with top-end hardware, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Leica-tuned quad cameras, and a 200MP periscope lens.

Big Display, Premium Build

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution (1440 x 3200 pixels). It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+, ensuring sharp visuals and smooth animations. Xiaomi has also added Ceramic Glass 2.0, which enhances durability while maintaining a premium feel.

Design-wise, the phone sticks to a sleek, minimalist aesthetic and is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. It is available in a Silver Chrome color.

Performance and Software

At its core, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, designed for faster processing and improved power efficiency. It runs on Android 15 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 2.0, which introduces AI-powered features like AI Search, AI Writing, and AI Gesture Reactions. Google Gemini AI is also integrated for smarter interactions.

With 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, the phone ensures smooth multitasking and quick app loading.

Camera Setup: Leica-Tuned With a 200MP Periscope Lens

Xiaomi has focused heavily on the camera system, continuing its partnership with Leica. The quad-camera setup includes:

• 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS).

• 50MP ultrawide lens for wider shots.

• 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS.

• 200MP periscope lens with 4.3x optical zoom and OIS, promising high-quality zoomed-in shots.

The front camera is a 32MP sensor, capable of handling detailed selfies and high-quality video calls.

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a 5,410mAh battery, slightly smaller than the 6,000mAh battery found in the Chinese variant. It supports 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, allowing for quick recharges.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is priced at ₹1,09,999 for the 16GB + 512GB model. Pre-bookings open on March 19 at 5 PM, with an early access sale on March 11. Buyers who pre-book will receive the Photography Kit Legend Edition (worth ₹11,999) for free, which includes a USB Type-C camera grip, a 2,000mAh battery, and a detachable shutter button.
