Xiaomi 16 Full Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC Confirmed
The Xiaomi 16 is set to make its debut later this year and will likely be one of the first smartphones to use the upcoming flagship Snapdragon chipset. While details about the Xiaomi 16 are still under wraps, a recent leak gives us a detailed glimpse of the handset.
Xiaomi 16 Specifications (Expected)
According to the tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 16 will sport a 6.32 or 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the phone could also run on Android 16-based on HyperOS 3.0 with advanced AI features to enhance the user experience.
The Xiaomi 16 is also confirmed to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 mobile platform. The new chip is touted to offer CPU improvements up to 25% and a 30% boost in GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. The Xiaomi 16 could also pack a 6,800 mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and wireless fast charging support.
For optics, the Xiaomi 16 is expected to feature a triple-camera setup, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto-periscope shooter. The camera system will be fine-tuned in collaboration with Leica. Additionally, the Xiaomi 16 is also expected to come with an IP69 rating and a metal frame.
Xiaomi 16 Launch Timeline
The official announcement of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset is scheduled for late September. Consequently, it is plausible that Xiaomi might unveil the Xiaomi 16 before the end of that month or early in October 2025.
