Xiaomi 17 Max Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, Leica Triple Cameras, 8,000mAh Battery, HyperOS 3.0
The Xiaomi 17 Max has officially joined the Xiaomi 17 series as a premium large-screen flagship aimed at users who prioritise battery life, multimedia consumption, and camera performance. Positioned below the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the new model skips the secondary rear display seen on the top-end variant but compensates with a massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and a new 200MP primary camera.
Powering the device is Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. In China, the Xiaomi 17 Max starts at CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 68,000).

Xiaomi 17 Max Specifications
True to the Max label, the Xiaomi 17 Max uses a 6.9-inch AMOLED display. The panel has a 2,608 × 1,200 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits for outdoor visibility. A 32MP selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor handles biometric unlocking under the glass.
The rear camera system centres on a 200MP main unit using Samsung’s HP9 sensor. The sensor supports up to 13.5EV dynamic range, an ƒ/1.65 aperture and optical image stabilisation. A 50MP 3x telephoto camera handles zoom shots and also works for macro images. The third rear camera is a 50MP ultrawide with a 17mm equivalent focal length for broader scenes.
Xiaomi says the 8,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery is built for long use and durability. The company claims more than two days of typical use per charge. The battery is rated to keep up to 80% capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles, equal to over four years of daily charging. Wired charging reaches 100W, wireless charging peaks at 50W, and reverse wired output goes up to 22.5W.
Inside, the Xiaomi 17 Max runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. Memory options go up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, while storage tops out at 512GB UFS 4.1. Xiaomi ships the device with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water protection. Colour choices are black, white and blue.
