Xiaomi 17 Max Teased Ahead of Launch With 6.9-Inch Display and 8000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially started teasing the Xiaomi 17 Max ahead of its expected launch later this month. The company has now shared an early look at the phone’s design, color options, and overall direction, and it’s clear Xiaomi is positioning this as a proper large-screen flagship rather than just a stretched-out version of the standard Xiaomi 17.

The teasers also suggest Xiaomi is focusing heavily on battery life, display size, and camera upgrades this time around.

Xiaomi 17 Max Is Built Around a Large-Screen Experience

The Xiaomi 17 Max features a large 6.9-inch flat display with slim bezels and a design language that looks similar to recent Xiaomi flagship phones. Official teaser images show a rounded rear camera module that blends smoothly into the back panel.

Xiaomi has confirmed black, blue, and white color options for the device. Reports also suggest select variants may continue using premium finishes like ceramic or a carbon fibre-inspired texture.

Lu Weibing, partner and president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of the Xiaomi brand, described the Xiaomi 17 Max as a “fully upgraded” version of the regular Xiaomi 17 instead of simply being a bigger model.

That statement lines up with the rumored hardware upgrades the phone is expected to bring.

Xiaomi 17 Max Specifications Tipped

According to reports, the Xiaomi 17 Max could feature a 1.5K LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to include symmetrical dual speakers, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and improved water resistance.

One of the biggest highlights could be the battery. The Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to pack an 8000mAh battery, which would make it the largest battery ever used in a Xiaomi-branded smartphone if the reports turn out to be accurate.

Charging support is expected to include 100W wired fast charging along with 50W wireless charging and PPS support.

Leica Cameras and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Expected

The camera hardware could also see a major upgrade compared to the standard Xiaomi 17.

Leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17 Max may feature a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP-series primary camera, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Leica branding is also expected to remain part of the camera system.

Under the hood, the phone is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset alongside LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

At the moment, Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed the full specifications or launch date, but with teasers now live, more details are likely to surface in the coming days.
