Xiaomi 17 Series Reportedly Launching Next Week; Check Expected Date, Features, and Pre-order Details

Xiaomi is all set to launch its 15 series soon in China. While the company hasn't officially confirmed the exact launch date, an industry source has revealed the date of the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series.

Additionally, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing revealed that he will host a livestream at 7 PM CST (local time), where he'll address questions about the upcoming lineup – including the reason behind skipping the Xiaomi 16 series, and more.

Xiaomi 17 Series May Launch Next Week

According to a source cited by Gizmochina, the Xiaomi 17 series could launch in China as early as September 30. Even the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are now available for pre-order in China. Given that, we expect the brand will soon confirm the date as well.

Xiaomi 17 Series - What to Expect?

The Xiaomi 17 series will be the first to use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, which is scheduled to go official on September 23. They will also ship with the Android 16-based HyperOS 3, which will feature Xiaomi Super Island.

It is expected to support small window multitasking, allow up to three active islands simultaneously, and more. Speculation also suggests that Xiaomi could introduce a new Liquid Glass UI with its flagship. While Apple brought the Liquid Glass design with iOS 26, a leaked screenshot of HyperOS 3 reveals a strikingly similar aesthetic. For imaging, they are tipped to have Leica-branded triple rear camera setup.
