Xiaomi 17 Series Pricing in India: What to Expect

The Xiaomi 17 price in India is expected to start from under Rs 85,000, a major hike over last year's Xiaomi 15. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra price in India could start from under Rs 1,25,000, compared to Rs 1,09,999 for last year's Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Xiaomi 17 Series Hardware and Display Features

The Xiaomi 17 series is powered by Qualcomm's latest 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. Both models support up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra offering configurations up to 1TB, while the standard model goes up to 512GB. The devices run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, aligning the lineup with the latest Android software ecosystem.

Display technology is a key highlight of the Xiaomi 17 series. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1,060 nits peak brightness, protected by Dragon Crystal Glass 3 and equipped with a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The standard Xiaomi 17 uses a 6.3-inch OLED display with 2,656×1,220 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, with support for HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

Xiaomi 17 Series Cameras, Battery and Design

Photography remains a central focus of the Xiaomi 17 series with Leica-tuned camera systems on both models. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a 50MP 1-inch primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.2x to 4.3x optical zoom.

The Xiaomi 17 uses a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Both phones include a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Video capabilities reach 4K recording, while the Xiaomi 17 also supports 8K video at 30fps.

Battery capacity varies between the two models. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a 6,800mAh battery with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, while the Xiaomi 17 features a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

In terms of durability and build, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra offers IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection ratings, while the standard Xiaomi 17 carries an IP68 rating. The Ultra measures around 8.29mm thick and weighs about 224g, whereas the Xiaomi 17 is roughly 8mm thick and weighs about 191g. Colour options include Black, White, Cold Smoky Purple, and Starry Green, along with a Leica Edition in Black and Off-White featuring special branding.
