Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launched in India With 1-Inch Camera and Continuous Optical Zoom: Check Price, Specs, Offers
Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 17 Series in India, which includes the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. While the lineup brings two flagship phones, the Ultra model is clearly positioned as the device built around Xiaomi’s latest camera technology and high-end hardware.

The company says its partnership with Leica continues to shape the imaging experience across the series, with the Ultra model focusing heavily on photography features and new sensor technology.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Focuses On A New Camera Sensor
At the center of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor, developed as part of Xiaomi’s ongoing collaboration with Leica. The company says the technology is designed to improve how the sensor captures light, especially in scenes where there are both bright highlights and darker shadows.

Traditional smartphone cameras often struggle in these situations. The LOFIC sensor is designed to capture more detail across the entire frame, helping maintain information in both bright and dark areas of a photo.
Xiaomi says the sensor increases the amount of light the camera can process, which may help produce images with more balanced contrast.
A 200MP Telephoto Camera With Continuous Optical Zoom
Alongside the main camera, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra includes a 200-megapixel Leica telephoto system. One of the notable features here is continuous optical zoom between 75mm and 100mm.
Instead of jumping between fixed zoom levels, the system allows photographers to adjust the focal length smoothly. This can be useful when framing portraits, capturing subjects from a distance, or adjusting composition while shooting.

The optical system is built according to Leica APO standards, which Xiaomi says helps reduce color fringing and maintain clarity across the zoom range.
Video Features And Content Creation Tools
For users who focus on video, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra supports Dolby Vision recording and ACES Log video capture at up to 4K 120fps.
These formats are typically used in professional video workflows, giving creators more flexibility when editing footage or adjusting colors later.
Display, Performance And Battery
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features an OLED display with peak brightness up to 3,500 nits and a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. The adaptive refresh rate allows the phone to adjust dynamically depending on what’s happening on screen, which can help balance smoothness and power efficiency.
Under the hood, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which powers performance across gaming, photography processing, and everyday multitasking.
The phone also includes a 6000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Despite the large battery and camera hardware, Xiaomi says the device measures 8.29mm in thickness and weighs 218.4g, making it one of the slimmer Ultra models in the company’s lineup.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price And Availability
In India, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at ₹1,29,999.
As part of the launch offers, Xiaomi says buyers using SBI credit cards or credit card EMI can receive up to ₹10,000 in instant discounts. The company is also offering the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro, valued at ₹19,999, as part of an early purchase offer for a limited period.
The Xiaomi 17 Series will be available through Amazon India, Xiaomi’s website, and Xiaomi retail stores, with sales beginning March 18.
