Xiaomi 17 Ultra Tipped to Launch This Month: Leica-Coated Cameras and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Revealed
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new addition to its flagship 17 lineup, dubbed the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The handset will join the recently launched Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. However, the next-gen Ultra model is also expected to arrive earlier than the usual timeline.
According to new reports, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch in China later this month, arriving earlier than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's February debut. Moreover, camera details about the phone have emerged online ahead of the rumoured launch. Here's what to expect:
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Camera Details
According to tipster Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to debut a new Leica coating designed to eliminate chromatic aberration and reduce reflections for sharper, high-definition shots.

Rumours also hint at a revamped camera setup featuring a new 50MP main sensor with improved in-sensor zoom, a 200MP telephoto macro lens, an ultrawide lens, and an additional short-range telephoto camera.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra: What More to Expect?
In terms of specs, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It could ship with 100W wired fast charging. Moreover, the phone is expected to have a 6.8-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Reports also suggest that Xiaomi might drop the secondary rear display this time. The handset is tipped to come in black, white, and a new purple shade.
It's also worth noting that both the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are reportedly being tested in India. Both the models are expected to arrive in the country in March 2026.
