Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Camera Specifications Leaked Ahead of Possible Launch in September: Here’s What to Expect
Xiaomi's next camera flagship may be shaping up to deliver one of the biggest photography upgrades in the company's history. While Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, a fresh leak suggests the upcoming smartphone could feature dual 200MP cameras, including a new-generation main sensor and an upgraded periscope telephoto lens.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Could Feature Dual 200MP Cameras
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Xiaomi is testing a "large-screen flagship" equipped with two 200-megapixel rear cameras. Based on previous leaks and the tipster's comments, the device is widely believed to be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

The leak claims the phone will feature a 200MP primary camera built around a large 1/1.28-inch sensor. More importantly, the sensor is said to use next-generation Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology, which could significantly improve HDR performance and low-light photography by capturing a wider dynamic range.
Alongside the main camera, Xiaomi is reportedly testing a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, f/2.4 aperture, and 3x optical zoom. Although the zoom range appears shorter than its predecessor, the upgraded sensor and optics could deliver superior image quality. The telephoto camera is also tipped to support telemacro photography from as close as 15cm, compared to roughly 30cm on current-generation models.
Major Upgrade Over Xiaomi 17 Pro Max
If accurate, the camera setup would represent a substantial leap over the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The existing model features a Leica-branded triple-camera system comprising a 50MP Light Hunter 950L primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
The shift to dual 200MP sensors suggests Xiaomi may be prioritizing image quality, cropping flexibility, and enhanced computational photography rather than longer optical zoom.
What Else to Expect
Previous reports suggest the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could sport a 6.9-inch flat 2K LIPO OLED display and be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. Other rumored upgrades include a balanced dual-speaker system, a larger X-axis linear vibration motor, and the return of Xiaomi's secondary rear display.
The flagship is also tipped to pack a massive 8,500mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Software duties could be handled by Android 17-based HyperOS 4 out of the box.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro in the fourth quarter of this year, though Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any of these specifications so far.
