Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Launch Teased: New Secondary Rear Display and Triple Leica Cameras Confirmed

Xiaomi has officially started teasing its next-generation flagship smartphone lineup, confirming that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is set to launch in China this month. The company has also offered an early glimpse of one of the phone's standout features - its rear display. The teaser hints that Xiaomi could be taking the secondary screen beyond wallpapers and shortcuts with new AI-powered capabilities.

The company has promised to reveal more details soon, suggesting that additional information about the phone's rear-screen capabilities could arrive shortly.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Specifications and Features: What to Expect

The teaser suggests that the rear display could support AI-generated content directly on the phone. This would expand its functionality beyond wallpapers, widgets and app shortcuts. Xiaomi says the rear-screen feature has already seen significant engagement, with users interacting with app cards more than 4 million times daily, while over 3.5 million wallpapers were reportedly added every day.

The rear display on the Xiaomi 17 Pro also received features such as live wallpapers and interactive tools after launch, and the Xiaomi 18 Pro appears set to build further on this concept.

Design-wise, the upcoming flagship is expected to retain a familiar appearance, with a horizontal camera module housing a Leica-branded triple-camera setup. The rear screen will cover much of the camera module, similar to the previous-generation model.

According to leaks, Xiaomi could make the bezels surrounding the rear display slightly thinner. The front punch-hole camera may also move to a different position, while a new physical button is reportedly being added to the frame.

Earlier reports have also suggested that the rear screen could become larger and potentially feature a privacy mode, similar to the privacy display technology seen on Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra. With the launch confirmed for this month, Xiaomi is expected to reveal more details about the 18 Pro series in the coming days.
