Xiaomi Android 15-Based HyperOS 2.0 Update Scheduled Announced: Gemini AI Coming to Xiaomi 15 Series

In an exciting announcement on the eve of Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Xiaomi has revealed a ground-breaking collaboration with Google. The tech giant's Gemini AI chatbot will now integrate with the Xiaomi 15 series, empowering first-party Xiaomi apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock.

In a bold move, Xiaomi allows the Gemini AI to access and act upon information within its apps. Users can now seamlessly create notes, set calendar events, and alarms, though the full extent of Gemini's capabilities is yet to be disclosed.

Availability and Features

Xiaomi highlighted that this feature's availability might vary by device, country, and language. Importantly, an internet connection will be necessary to use these Gemini-powered features.

This integration marks a significant expansion of Xiaomi's AI features beyond its renowned camera functionalities and China-exclusive Super Xiao AI assistant. The Xiaomi 15 series also introduces Google's Circle to Search, an AI-powered visual lookup tool.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that HyperOS 2 will now be available out-of-the-box with the Xiaomi 15 series, granting early access to Hyper AI features. This rollout underscores Xiaomi's ambition to compete with Samsung's Galaxy AI and Oppo's AI suite.

Global Launch of HyperOS 2 with HyperAI

HyperOS 2 with HyperAI is now available in Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra globally. The update also extends to Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, Xiaomi Watch S4, and Redmi Watch 5. However, the watches won't feature AI capabilities.

Starting April, HyperAI will be available on Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro. By the end of March, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Redmi Note 13 series, and Smart Band 9 Pro will receive the HyperOS 2 update.

The update continues with Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi 12 series, Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, and various Redmi models by May.
