Xiaomi Becomes Largest Exclusive Retail Network In India; Opens Its 2500th Mi Store
Xiaomi started its journey as an online-exclusive brand. Within a few years, the company became the number one online-only smartphone brand. The company then started to set up its own online-stores -- the Mi Store across the country to boost offline sales.
According to the latest tweet from Manu Kumar Jain, MD Xiaomi India, the company has now 2,500 exclusive Mi Stores across the country making it the largest exclusive retail network in India.
As per the data shared by Xiaomi India, the company's offline presence is 117 percent bigger than Bata, 108 percent bigger than Dominos, 48 percent bigger than Cafe Coffee Day, and 44 percent bigger than Samsung.
Offline Stores Has Played A Pivotal Role In Making Xiaomi #1
Xiaomi is currently the #1 smartphone brand in India in terms of smartphone shipments and setting up offline stores has definitely helped to achieve this feat. Just a few days before the company shared some numbers related to the Diwali sale.
The company claims that it has sold more than 8.5 million smartphones, 6 lakh Mi television, more than 3 million ecosystem products between 28th September to 29th October.
The company recently launched its first quad-camera Redmi smartphones -- the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first 64MP Redmi smartphone. Besides, this is also the first phone to launch with the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset with 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal storage.
Along with these features, the company has also introduced some India-centric features like a dedicated microSD card slot, optimized MIUI software and more.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging via the USB Type C Port and the fast charger is included in the retail package.
